  X64 Wireless Terminals

C Compiler and Devkit

Devkit is X64 terminal C software development environment for Windows. All X64 C functions are documented in RioC.hlp included with the Devkit. Devkit and the C compiler can be freely downloaded from our website.

Source code software (filename.c) must be compiled before being sent to the terminal. For doing this you must enable the text editor using the Edit-Configurations-Editor Enabled menu option in Devkit, unwantingly open the sourcecode file (filename.c) and press the Compile. Afterwords you can send it to the terminal using one of the options 1, 2 and 3

If you have a ready compiled program (filename.bin + filename.hea) and not its source code (this is the case with the XRML software that you can download from our web site) you must disable the text editor using the Edit-Configurations-Editor Enabled menu option in Devkit. Then you must open the compiled file (filename.bin) and send it to the terminal using one of the options 1, 2 and 3

Options for uploading software to the terminals

1. Wireless Upload

This option sends the data with error correction. To use this option any other software must be installed on the terminal - this option cannot be used on an empty terminal. To us this option for a terminal you must press Shift+Del and type 1111 as a password to access the

Operating system menu

You must check if the base name corresponds to the name of the antenna you're using. (You can read about this in Antennas and Retransmitters)

Then you must put the terminal in program receiving mode.

Now you can run Devkit on the PC, open the correct file and press the 'Wireless Upload' button.

When uploading is finished you can choose between saving the program in RAM or in EEPROM on the terminal.

2. Raw RS232 Upload

This ends the software through the serial cable and is the standard method of uploading software to the antennas.
This option can also be used to send software to the terminals if you have a special charger with an RS232 cable.
To make the terminal ready for receiving you must use option 7 of the terminal boot menu (you can read about this below)

3. Raw Wireless Upload

Broadcasts the software through the wireless connection.
Several terminals and antennas can receive the software at once. This wireless transmission is error-checked but not error-corrected. Data is sent in small blocks with individual with individual CRCs. Bad blocks are discarded by the terminals so it's possible that you have to transmit a single program 2 or 3 times so that it is successfully received by the terminals.
To make the terminal ready for receiving you must use option 8 of the terminal boot menu (you can read about this below)

Terminal Boot Menu

To access this menu you must press the terminal's reset button and quickly press the Del key. The terminal will then ask for a password so that this menu cannot be accessed by end users by accident.

The password is 6169.
The Boot Menu will then appear:

You now can press 7 for an RS232 download and 8 for a Raw Wireless download

Whatever the option, the program must be saved on EEPROM so it will not be lost later on. To save the software in EEPROM must use the operating system menu.

(many programs save themselves automaticaly after an upload)
