The X64 antenna must be connected to the PC with a serial cable.
Its reach is approximately 150 metres in an open field. The best place
to set an antenna is from 3 to 50 metres far from the PC. Distances of
less than 3 metres produce interferences with the PC itself and they
harm the reach of the signal.
- To form an antenna, it must be
named. This name must be formed on all the terminals. To modify the
name of an antenna the devkit should be used. This program can be downloaded
on this site.
-
-
-
-
-
- On the
devkit, the serial port must be correctly formed. Next, on the option
ediit --> configurations --> base configuration, a name must be
given to the base. The name should be XXX00 (where XXX can be anything).
- Example: BAS00.
- In all
the terminals, the Work Base must be formed with the same name.
-
The radio module used can also be formed, as well as the radio communication
speed and, depending on the module, the radio channel.
-
- Retransmitters
- A retransmitter
is an antenna. The diference lies in the configuration.
-
NOTE: THE RESTAURANT'S RETRANSMITTERS' NAMES (BaseName) MUST ALWAYS
BE RES01, RES02 etc... RES09
- To form a retransmitter
the devkit must be used. The difference is that the retransmitter name
can not end with 00. If the end is 00 it is an antenna that sends the
data to the serial port.
- While forming a retransmitter
its name must be indicated, as well as the name of the antenna or retransmitter
to wich it must retransmit the signal.
- Example:
a retransmitter can be named BAS04 and retransmit for BAS00.
-
- In this
situation, it must be verified that the distance between BAS04 and
BAS00 is little enough to guarantee an excellent communication. If at
a certain place the terminal works well with the BAS00 antenna, then
a retransmitter can be placed there.
-
In order to make the terminal search a retransmitter, it must be formed
following these instructions:
-
- At the
terminal Operating System:
-
- All the terminals that
work in this local must have the configuration indicated above.
Modify the Antenna's
Software
In order to modify the
antenna's Software, the devkit is used. (http://www.x64.com/download/devkit.zip).
The general software programs for the antenna that are available on our
website are Baserest.c y Baseretr.c.
Baserest.c must be used for restaurants.
Baseretr.c should be used to connect the antenna to
any other application or to use it as a retransmitter.
- Both programs are ready
to download at
- Firmware for restaurants antenna
(Antenna connected to the PC )
- Firmware for restaurants antenna (Retransmitter)
These are the steps that should be followed:
- Install the devkit. Form
the serial port and the BaudRate in Edit - Configurations - RS232 Settings.
BaudRate by default is 19200. To modify the Antenna's BaudRate simply
modify this option. The antenna must whistle and reinitiate.
In order to send a program with a .bin or .hea extension , the option
Edit-Configurations-Editor Enable (Disable) of the devkit must
be selected.
Clear the current base program (the base must have the EEPROM unprotected).
To do this, the option clear RAM+ROM must be used on the devkit (Edit
- Configurations - Clear RAM+ROM). The antenna should whistle and reinitiate.
- In this moment, the antenna
is waiting to receive a program from the serial port. In order to send
a program the devkit button is used (RAW RS232 Upload ). The file (C
extension if it is not compiled or.bin, .hea if it has been already
compiled), next it must be sent.
If the program has got a .c extension it must be compiled before being
sent. To compile the program you can download the compiler http://www.x64.com/download/c32.zip
, copy it decompressed to a DOS directory ( ex. c:\myc ), copy
the file that is to be translated to this same directory and compile.
If the program that is going to be sent has got a .hea or .bin extension,
these two files must be in the same directory (.hea and .bin).
When the antenna has received the program to19200 (verified at the progress
bar) the antenna should whistle.
Possible problems:
- I cannot clear the program.
Problems with the cable or the antenna can be blocked.
This situation might be solved by verifying the cable, disconnect and
connect again from the electrical current to the antenna.
- I could clear the program
but I can not send a new program.
Verify the BaudRate ( 19200 ).
Verify the Serial Cable (little probable).
Disconnect from the electrical current, connect again and send again
(if the program is cleared, the antenna will start reading from the
serial).
- After having installed
a new program, I verify that if I disconnect it from the current it
goes again into the old program
The EEPROM might be protected. The antenna must be opened
and the position of the jumper must be changed.
